CHOOSING YOUR GUINEA PIG(S)
When choosing your guinea pig choose one that has nice bright eyes and is very inquisitive and friendly. Always go to your local rescue centres website to see if they have any up for adoption.
If your local rescue doesn't have any guinea pigs, you can wait till they have some more or you can check in your closest pets at home in their pet adoption section if they don't have any you will probably have to buy one from a good pet shop.
BRINGING YOUR GUINEA PIG HOME
When you bring your guinea pig home, it's a good idea to have the hutch or cage set up ready so you don't have to handle the guinea pig to much or if you don't already have a run to put it in while you set up the hutch. At the rescue center or pet shop you should ask if you can hold the one you want before you take it home to make sure you definitely want that one or a different one. You should also ask if getting it from a rescue if you need to bring a carrier to pick it up to take it home. Most pet shops will give you a card board carrier or a card board box to take it home in.
