What animals do I work with at the farm? And what jobs do I do with each animal?
Hi readers! I thought I would do a more farm related post for a change.
1. Cows, they are the main animal at the farm and have to be kept happy and healthy. The main job is feeding them, this does take some time as we have well over 20 cows. As well as feeding them we have to muck out the yard and lower barn from their poo. Every now and again we also have to get them into the cattle crush to do TB (Bovine Tuberculosis) tests with the vet, worm them or tag any calves that haven't already.

2. Sheep, the sheep flock is currently being downsized so there are less sheep to feed over the winter. The only really need feeding and fresh hay and straw as it gets colder.
3. Pygmy goats, we have 4 of these little cuties at the farm. They need feeding, fresh hay and cuddles!
4. BIG goats. We have 3 large goats who only need some hay and occasionally bread with cleaning out not needed very often.
5. Chickens, we have 2 large pens of chickens and 4 little pens as well. They need feeding and fresh bedding. They also need to be checked for fresh eggs.
6. Ducks. They are much the same as the chickens except they are all in the same pen. We have 3 large white ducks and several Indian runner ducks.
7. Geese, We have a flock of 11 white geese. They aren't laying at the moment but in the summer we have to give them extra feed and check for eggs. They are free during the day to swim on the pond.
8. Donkeys. We have 3 donkeys at the farm, Millie (mum), Max (dad) and Smurf (baby ish). They need hay and fresh bedding. Smurf does kick and bite as he was hand raised as Millie abandoned him. They are rescue donkeys (smurf was born on the farm).
9. The pony. We have a welsh mountain pony called Alice who needs special feed as she is at least 31 if not more and she struggles to keep weight on.
10. The pig. Our lovely old pig, Del Boy, is a kune kune. He gets pig nuts and a mix of veg and bread.
11. Guinea pigs, there are many guinea pigs at the farm. They get nuggets and veg.
